Our history

It all started in 1973 when Vinicia Rascioni and Paolino Cecconello passionate farmers began to devote themselves to the company, its vineyards and its cellar

In 1988, with the meeting of the young winemaker Attillo Pagli, he pursued the idea of ​​producing quality wines with indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese and the unknown ciliegiolo.

Poggio was born Cherry still jewel of the company.
The farm turns into a modern and functional company and has become a reference point for the Maremma wine production.

the merit of having demonstrated how a so-called complementary grape like ciliegiolo can be convincing if vinified in purity.

Today the daughter Sabrina inherits the passion of Vinicia and Paolino, together with her husband Paolo and her son Emanuele have assumed the management and responsibility of the company.

The territory

The production vineyards are about 7 hectares wide with Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo and Vermentino.
The hilly terrain on which they are born is of medium texture with a high percentage of skeleton, an important factor that gives considerable freshness to the grapes.

The breeding and Guyot system with 3,800 plants per hectare and a load of 12 buds per vine. All the cultivation operations in the vineyard, including the harvest, are carried out manually without the aid of machinery.

Pesticide treatments and fertilizations respect the biological protocol. All the production phases (care of the vineyard, vinification, bottling) are carried out by Emanuele and Sabrina in collaboration with A. Pagli, G. Cesari and Stefano Dini
